The 33rd America´s Cup will be raced in Valencia in 2009, bringing sailing´s most glittering event back to the Spanish city that held the 32nd event in 2007.
Valencia has invested millions of euros into the regeneration of the town, port and marina which attracted hordes of visitors, building up popular support for what had previously been an elitist sports event.

In addition the airport in Valencia has under gone a massive extension to cope with the increasing numbers of visitors and investors flocking to the province. A new line for the Metro is now in place from the Airport direct to the Americas Cup Port and the beach of Malvarrosa.
