AMERICAS CUP!
The 33rd America´s Cup will be raced in Valencia
in 2009, bringing sailing´s most glittering event
back to the Spanish city that held the 32nd event in
2007.
Valencia has invested millions of euros into the regeneration
of the town, port and marina which attracted hordes
of visitors, building up popular support for what had
previously been an elitist sports event.
The 32nd America´s Cup is being haled as the most
succesful ever, here are some statistics as to just

- Spectator Boats - 12 boats per day each with 1,300

In addition the airport in Valencia has under gone
a massive extension to cope with the increasing numbers
of visitors and investors flocking to the province.
A new line for the Metro is now in place from the Airport
direct to the Americas Cup Port and the beach of Malvarrosa.

THE EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX in VALENCIA
2008
Formula 1 is coming to Valencia in 2008 with an Urban
Circuit based around the City of Sciences to the Port
Marina areas. Following the success of the Amercias
Cup Valencia has got the taste of major sporting events
and is hoping to increase its image as the playground
for the rich. Bernie Ecclestone, boss of f1, announces
7 years contract with the city of Valencia in Spain
for a race in an urban circuit.
